Behind the Comando Jar

Comando Cream starts its journey just outside Cape Town, where tallow is sourced directly from LA Farms. From there, it undergoes a refining process (okay, more like five rounds of refining!) before becoming the lush cream in your jar.

To create the perfect balance, I blend in a touch of jojoba oil and a plant-derived emollient. This ensures your cream stays just right—neither too soft in summer nor too firm in winter. Tallow, after all, is highly sensitive to temperature.

For products that aren’t fragrance-free, I add a few drops of essential oil. For our face cream, tea tree oil is the star ingredient. It works beautifully with tallow’s natural anti-inflammatory properties to calm redness, dry out acne spots, and soothe rashes. Plus, its antiseptic qualities make it ideal for treating open or sensitive skin.
